Time Management
Foundations
- I will write down my
responsibilities and obligations where I can find them.
- I will review my responsibilities
and obligations.
- I will prioritize things I need
to do versus things I want to do and choose between them.
- I will balance my social life
with my responsibilities and obligations.
- I will balance my family life
with my school related responsibilities and obligations.
- Under stress, I will take the
time to create a to do list.
Basics
- I will write down all my
responsibilities and obligations in a central location and review them
daily.
- I will prioritize things I need
to do versus things I want to do and choose the things I need to do first.
- I will limit the amount of
television that I watch to my favorite shows
- I will set aside time right after
a short break after school to get done most of what I need to do.
- I will start projects ahead of
time so that I know I can comfortably finish the project before it is due.
- When I finish all I need to do in
the short run, I will take the time to create a to do list to see if I can
start anything that needs to be done.
Advanced
- I will prioritize things I need
to do and get them done before I do anything I want to do while allowing
for reasonable breaks and containing my stress levels
- I will finish projects well
before it is due so that I have time to reflect, edit, revise, or
otherwise change the project to make it better.
- I will keep my ongoing to do
lists in a place where I constantly see and interact with it and I will
base much of my time on accomplishing items on that list.
- I will prioritize
responsibilities and obligations and honorably and honestly decline to
keep some so that I can get adequate sleep and even a small bit of leisure
time.
